AFIB Clinic
Our AFIB team is led by Drs. Sam Aznaurov and Maria Anderson, board-certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology. They are one of the most experienced duos in the Denver-Boulder area offering ablation therapies for heart rhythm problems.
AFib Clinic at Boulder heart services include:
- Proactive, prompt evaluation detailing the disease processes, lifestyle considerations and innovative treatment options
- Individualized full-spectrum care plans, combining lifestyle recommendations with medication management, device implantation (pacemakers and defibrillators, including Micra® the world’s smallest pacemaker), catheter-based ablation and surgical intervention.

Heart Failure Clinic
Led by board-certified advanced heart failure cardiologist Dr. Scott Blois, our specialized heart failure clinic—the first in Boulder County—offers expertise with the latest treatment options that lead to improved outcomes for patients. Since its inception in 2016, our program has received Healthgrades' 5-Star award rating for treatment of heart failure.
Our congestive heart failure services include:
- Consultation with Dr. Blois to diagnose your specific condition
- One-on-one education with Dr. Blois
- Diagnostic testing - echocardiogram, treadmill stress test
- Treatment including medication management
- Evaluation and referral for pacemaker, ventricular assist device (VAD), or heart transplant
Robotic Mitral Valve Repair
Boulder Community Health’s Foothills Hospital was the first medical facility in Colorado and the surrounding multi-state region to perform cardiac mitral valve surgery with the remarkably precise, minimally invasive da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery system.
Robotic-assisted mitral valve repair, performed at BCH with the latest da Vinci Xi™ technology, is a remarkably precise, minimally invasive closed chest approach, resulting in fewer incisions and much smaller scars, shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery times and less pain.
This technology allows the robotic-assisted surgeon to see the intricate anatomy of the heart, with precise instrumentation and crystal clear 3DHD visualization (10 times greater than the human eye). With the four robotic arms that can move in any direction, the surgeon has unobstructed access to the patient with a better view of the chest to see torn cords.
Structural Heart Program
Our comprehensive Structural Heart program is led by Dr. Srinivas Iyengar, a highly experienced interventional cardiologist who has successfully performed the most innovative minimally invasive procedures available to treat valvular heart conditions such as severe aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure.
